Dr. Tam Trinh

Even in his youth, Dr. Trinh was passionate about problem-solving and helping others in an impactful way. Then, during a summer program at UC San Francisco, his eyes were opened to the real difference dentists could make in their patients’ lives while continually improving their own skills, which inspired him to pursue a dental career, and he hasn’t looked back!

Dr. Trinh initially earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois Chicago, then achieved a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the same school’s College of Dentistry. Then, he completed his Endodontic Residency (MS) at the University of North Caroline at Chapel Hill.

Today, Dr. Trinh remains committed to continuing education and participates in several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists, among others.

Dr. Trinh has also gained more than a decade of experience and takes pride in devising customized treatment plans to meet people’s unique needs. He enjoys combining art with science to deliver top-quality care that can improve his patients’ daily quality of life.

Dr. Nisha Mehta

Dr. Mehta’s interest in the field of oral healthcare began as a child, when she had positive experiences with her own pediatric dentist. Then, while completing her undergraduate studies at Purdue University, she realized that becoming a dentist would allow her to combine her ability to work with her hands with her passion for science to improve people’s dental health.

After earning her Bachelor’s in Accounting, Dr. Mehta graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) advanced degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry. She then completed several residencies, including a General Practice Residency at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, an Implant Fellowship at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, and an Endodontics Residency at Saint Louis University.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, Dr. Mehta also participates in various prestigious organizations, such as the American Association of Endodontists and the American Dental Association, to stay current with the latest treatment trends and technology. Today, she has more than 10 years of experience and is eager to address her patient’s concerns and alleviate their aches to enhance their dental health.

Wonderful endodontist! I would highly recommend Dr. Nisha Mehta. She is phenomenal at her work and very knowledgeable. Not only will she put you at ease, but her work is also quick and painless. I barely felt any pain with no down time.

The practice is gorgeous. They put allot of time and effort into every detail of the space. From noise absorbing art structures to hand painted murals by local artist, this place is above and beyond any practice I have seen.

The equipment is all state of the art. You will notice, there are no bulky dental trays in front of you, while you lay there for a checkup. The monitors, sound systems, and tools will have you in awe.

The place along with this doctor will actually make a trip to the dentist quite fun.

Why Are You Looking for an Endodontist Near Northbrook?

I Need a Root Canal

If you have a damaged or decayed tooth that hurts or has developed an infection, a root canal procedure is the standard solution. This treatment involves creating a small opening in your enamel to remove bacteria and injured materials. Then, our team near Northbrook will fill and seal the tooth closed and likely will recommend getting a dental crown to protect it.

Not only can a root canal procedure alleviate your toothache, but it also helps preserve your natural teeth in circumstances that might otherwise require extraction, which has its own risks.

I’ve Had a Root Canal, But Need a Re-Treatment

Although most root canal procedures last for a lifetime, there’s a chance that your treated tooth might one day require retreatment. This sometimes happens if the dental crown was placed too late, it sustained additional damage, such as chips or cracks, or you neglect your at-home oral hygiene routine, increasing the likelihood of developing cavities or gum disease in the treated tooth

Whatever the reason for your more recent concern, our experts near Northbrook can clear the resulting infection with another root canal if necessary.

I Am Nervous/Scared of the Dentist

Many people feel anxious regarding dental visits, especially if they’re undergoing a more complex procedure, such as a root canal. Our team understands that many patients near Northbrook might worry that their appointment will be long or agonizing, and we want to assure you that we will do everything we can to help you feel calm and comfortable.

For example, we offer multiple types of medications, such as nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral conscious sedation, and IV sedation, to help you through your visit, regardless of the reason.

I Am in Pain & Need Help

Preventive care, like brushing and flossing twice daily and getting a routine dental checkup and cleaning every six months, can help avoid oral issues that might lead to a root canal. However, there’s no guarantee that you’ll never have an emergency that requires immediate attention.

Fortunately, our office near Northbrook provides same-day visits for urgent scenarios and various options for sedation, so that if you’ve been hurt, you don’t have to wait long for relief. Once you’re comfortable, our team will examine your mouth to identify the root problem and devise an appropriate treatment plan to help address it.
